SAUDI ARABIA ANNOUNCES MAJOR CHANGES FOR 2027 HAJJ PACKAGE D SCRAPPED
Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has unveiled the initial arrangements for Hajj affairs offices ahead of the 2027 Hajj season, introducing several major updates to improve pilgrims’ experience.
Among the key changes announced is the SCRAPPING OF PACKAGE D, with Hajj packages now restructured into three categories to better suit pilgrims’ preferences and needs.
The minister also announced a comprehensive package covering services at the holy sites, accommodation in Makkah and Madinah, while transportation and catering will now be mandatory throughout pilgrims’ stay.
Another major update is the launch of a mandatory training program for Hajj office members, which will now be required before obtaining a visa.
Regarding the timeline for 1448 AH, Hajj affairs offices and foreign Hajj companies will be able to secure priority accommodation in Makkah and Madinah starting June 30, 2026. Offices wishing to retain their current locations at the holy sites will also be given priority when contracting for the comprehensive package through August 13, 2026.
