YOU DON’T HAVE TO EXPERIENCE EVERY SIN TO KNOW IT IS WRONG
One of the biggest pressures young people face today is the idea that they need to “experience life.”
“Just try it.”
“Everybody is doing it.”
“You’re young. Enjoy yourself.”
“What’s the worst that can happen?”
But Islam teaches us something important:
**You don’t have to experience every temptation before you learn that it can harm you.
Allah says: “Do not go near zina. Indeed, it is an immoral act and a terrible way.” Qur’an 17:32
Notice that Allah didn’t only say, “Don’t commit zina.”
He said: “Do not go near it.”
STAYING AWAY STARTS BEFORE THE SIN
Sometimes the best way to avoid a major sin is to avoid the things that lead towards it.
That means setting boundaries.
Being careful about private conversations.
Being mindful of what you watch.
Avoiding situations where you know your self-control will be tested.
Choosing good friends.
And not allowing curiosity to become an excuse for crossing boundaries.
“I CAN HANDLE IT” IS NOT ALWAYS WISDOM
You may think:
“I know when to stop.”
“I won’t go too far.”
“I can control myself.”
But temptation can gradually move a person further than they planned.
A conversation becomes emotional.
The emotional connection becomes attachment.
The attachment leads to secret meetings.
And what started as something that seemed harmless becomes something much more serious.
This is why Allah tells us not to go near zina.
PROTECT YOUR HEART AND YOUR FUTURE
Your youth is precious.
Don’t allow temporary desires to make permanent damage in your life.
If you have already fallen into something you regret, don’t think there is no way back.
Turn to Allah.
Repent sincerely.
Cut off what is pulling you towards the sin.
And start again.
HEART CHECK
You don’t have to prove your maturity by trying everything. Sometimes maturity is knowing what to walk away from. Not every door deserves to be opened.
