Before Islam, Mus’ab ibn Umair was known for his comfortable life in Makkah. He was young, well-dressed and enjoyed the privileges of his family.
But then he discovered Islam.
And everything changed.
WHEN FAITH BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAN COMFORT
Mus’ab accepted Islam at a time when becoming Muslim could cost you your family, your comfort and even your safety.
His mother strongly opposed his Islam and eventually restricted him because of his faith.
Mus’ab had to choose.
Comfort or conviction?
And he chose Islam.
The young man who once enjoyed luxury eventually experienced hardship because he refused to abandon his faith.
ALLAH GAVE HIM A GREATER PURPOSE
Mus’ab was later sent to Madinah before the Hijrah to teach people about Islam.
Think about that.
He was young, yet he was entrusted with an important mission.
He taught the Qur’an, called people towards Islam and helped prepare the ground for the arrival of the Prophet ﷺ.
His youth did not make him useless.
His age did not stop him from serving Allah.
WHAT CAN YOUNG MUSLIMS LEARN?
You don’t have to wait until you are older before your life has meaning.
You can serve Allah now.
Your skills can be used for good. Your education can benefit people. Your social media platform can spread beneficial knowledge. Your kindness can change someone’s day. Your character can become a form of da’wah.
Mus’ab teaches us that purpose is not found in how much comfort you have, but in what you choose to live for.
You may not have everything figured out yet.
But ask yourself:
What has Allah given me that I can use for something meaningful?
