“I have sinned too much.”
“I keep making the same mistakes.”
“Maybe Allah will not forgive me.”
These thoughts can keep a person away from Allah for longer than the sin itself.
But Islam does not teach us to wait until we become perfect before returning to Allah.
It teaches us to return because we are imperfect.
ALLAH’S MERCY IS GREATER THAN YOUR MISTAKES
Allah says: “Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.” Qur’an 39:53
This verse is a powerful reminder for anyone who feels too far gone.
Your past does not have to determine your future.
You may have made mistakes. You may have fallen into sins. You may have neglected salah or spent years away from the Qur’an.
But the door of repentance remains open while you are alive.
DON’T LET SHAYTAN TURN SIN INTO DESPAIR
When someone commits a sin, Shaytan may first encourage the sin and then whisper:
“You are a hypocrite.”
“You will never change.”
“Why bother praying?”
“Allah will not forgive someone like you.”
Do not accept these whispers.
A believer can fall and still get back up.
Repentance means recognising the wrong, turning away from it, regretting it and returning sincerely to Allah.
COME BACK ONE STEP AT A TIME
You do not have to transform your entire life in one night.
Start with salah.
Open the Qur’an.
Make istighfar.
Leave the sin you are able to leave.
Change the company that constantly pulls you into wrongdoing.
Ask Allah for help.
Then keep going.
If you fall again, repent again.
The important thing is that you do not make peace with sin and stop trying to return to Allah.
YOUR PAST CAN BECOME A LESSON
Sometimes the person who has struggled deeply with sin becomes more humble, more compassionate and more aware of Allah’s mercy after sincere repentance.
Do not be proud of your past mistakes.
But do not allow them to convince you that you have no future.
Allah loves those who repent. “Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.”**
Qur’an 2:222
COME BACK TODAY
Do not wait for Ramadan.
Do not wait until you become “better.”
Do not wait until you feel worthy.
Turn to Allah now.
Make wudu.
Pray.
Say Astaghfirullah sincerely.
Raise your hands and ask Allah to help you.
You do not have to be perfect to come back to Allah.
You simply have to be willing to turn back.
