When people talk about education, they often focus only on grades, certificates and getting a good job.

Knowledge can help you understand your Creator, fulfil your responsibilities and contribute positively to society.
ISLAM ENCOURAGES LEARNING
The first revelation began with a command connected to reading:
> “Read in the name of your Lord who created.” (Qur’an 96:1)
This was the beginning of a revelation that transformed people through knowledge, guidance and understanding.
Islam does not encourage ignorance.
A Muslim should seek beneficial knowledge.
EDUCATION CAN BECOME AN ACT OF WORSHIP
Imagine a student who studies with the intention of becoming useful.
A medical student who wants to care for people.
A teacher who wants to educate children.
An engineer who wants to solve problems.
A businessperson who wants to provide halal services.
A technology professional who wants to build something beneficial.
When knowledge is pursued for a good purpose and used responsibly, it can become a means of benefit.
DON’T LOOK DOWN ON LEARNING
Maybe you are struggling academically.
Maybe you don’t understand something as quickly as your classmates.
That does not mean you are incapable of learning.
Ask questions.
Practise.
Seek help.
Learn from your mistakes.
Don’t let embarrassment stop you from becoming knowledgeable.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.” (Sahih Muslim 2699)
EDUCATION SHOULD BUILD MORE THAN YOUR CV
Your education should not only make you employable.
It should also help you become responsible, disciplined and useful.
Learn your deen.
Learn your profession.
Learn how to communicate.
Learn how to think critically.
Learn how to solve problems.
Learn how to serve people.
Knowledge becomes most valuable when it produces beneficial action.
