Have you ever done something simply because everyone else was doing it?
Maybe your friends were doing it.
Maybe it was trending on social media.
Maybe you were afraid that people would call you boring if you refused.
This is one of the challenges young Muslims face today: the pressure to follow the crowd.
The life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) teaches us that truth is not determined by popularity.
Before his prophethood, Muhammad (SAW) lived among a society where idol worship was widespread. Yet he did not simply accept what everyone around him was doing.
He was different.
He did not follow falsehood simply because it was popular.
When revelation came, the Prophet (SAW) called people to worship Allah alone, even though the majority of his society rejected his message.
WHAT CAN YOUTH LEARN?
1. “Everyone is doing it” is not a reason to do something.
Popularity does not make something halal.
2. Learn to say no.
Sometimes saying “no” to your friends is an act of strength.
3. Know your values.
When you understand your deen, you are lesls likely to allow the crowd to control your decisions.
4. Don’t be afraid of being different.
Being different because you are obeying Allah is not something to be ashamed of.
ASK YOURSELF
If all your friends suddenly started doing something haram, would you join them?
Or would you be strong enough to say:
“No. Allah comes first.
HEART CHECK
The crowd will not stand with you on the Day of Judgment.
Your choices matter. Don’t follow the crowd blindly. Follow what is pleasing to Allah.
