WHY YOU SHOULD NOT RUSH INTO MARRIAGE
Marriage is beautiful.
But wanting to get married is not the same thing as being ready for marriage.
Sometimes young people rush because they are lonely.
Sometimes because everyone around them is getting married.
Sometimes because they are afraid of getting older.
Sometimes because they have found someone they like and don’t want to lose them.
But marriage deserves more than urgency.
LONELINESS IS NOT ALWAYS A SIGN THAT YOU NEED TO MARRY IMMEDIATELY
You can feel lonely while single.
But getting married does not automatically solve every emotional problem.
Marriage comes with companionship, but it also comes with responsibilities, communication, patience, financial considerations and difficult moments.
If you expect marriage to fix everything inside you, you may enter it with unrealistic expectations.
DON’T IGNORE IMPORTANT WARNING SIGNS
When you are emotionally attached to someone, it can be tempting to explain away behaviour that should concern you.
You might say:
“They will change after marriage.”
“They only behave like that when they are angry.”
“Everyone has flaws.”
Yes, everyone has flaws.
But there is a difference between ordinary human weaknesses and serious patterns of dishonesty, disrespect, manipulation, abuse or disregard for Islamic boundaries.
Don’t allow excitement to silence wisdom.
PREPARE YOURSELF
While waiting for marriage, build yourself.
Learn about the rights and responsibilities of spouses.
Work on your communication.
Develop emotional maturity.
Learn how to manage money.
Strengthen your relationship with Allah.
Understand what you want your future family to look like.
And remember that being single is not a spiritual failure.
Your value is not determined by whether you have a spouse.
TRUST ALLAH’S TIMING
If marriage has not happened yet, you can still live a meaningful life.
Study.
Work.
Serve your family.
Build your skills.
Worship Allah.
Make dua.
Grow.
Marriage should be something you enter with responsibility—not simply something you run into because you are afraid of being alone.
HEART CHECK
Are you preparing for marriage—or are you simply desperate to stop being single?
