WHEN YOUR IMAN FEELS WEAK: WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
There are days when salah feels difficult.
You open the Qur’an but your heart feels distant.
You make dhikr, but you don’t feel the same connection you once did.
And you begin to wonder:
“What is wrong with me?”
First, don’t panic.
Iman can become stronger and weaker. What matters is what you do when you notice it becoming weak.
DON’T RUN AWAY FROM ALLAH
One of the worst things you can do when your iman is struggling is to distance yourself even further.
You missed salah? Don’t say, “I’m already failing, so what’s the point?”
You committed a sin? Don’t say, “Allah won’t forgive someone like me.”
You feel spiritually empty? Don’t stop making dua.
Return to Allah even when you don’t feel worthy of returning.
Allah says: “Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.” (Qur’an 2:222)
START SMALL
You don’t always need a dramatic spiritual transformation.
Start with one prayer that you begin protecting carefully.
Read a few verses of Qur’an every day.
Make dhikr while walking or doing your daily activities.
Spend a few minutes making sincere dua.
Leave one sin that you know is damaging your heart.
Small consistent actions can rebuild your connection with Allah.
CHECK WHAT IS FEEDING YOUR HEART
Sometimes your iman feels weak because your heart is constantly being fed things that make it harder to remember Allah.
Look at what you watch.
Look at what you listen to.
Look at the conversations you constantly have.
Look at the people influencing you.
Your heart is affected by what you repeatedly expose it to.
Don’t wait until you “feel motivated.”
Sometimes obedience comes first, and the feeling follows.
HEART CHECK
What is one small thing you can start doing today to bring your heart closer to Allah?
