VIDEO: NIGERIA SECURITY AGENCIES URGED TO ACT EARLY TO PREVENT EMERGING SECURITY THREAT
Basirah Ugochi Abdullah, an Igbo woman from Nsukka, Enugu State, has called on Nigerian security agencies to take proactive steps to prevent a potential security crisis from escalating into a nationwide problem.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Abdullah warned that failure to address the situation early could result in a challenge more disruptive than the sit-at-home actions previously associated with the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
She stressed the need for timely intelligence gathering, community engagement, and firm but lawful intervention to nip the issue in the bud before it spreads. According to her, early action by security agencies would help maintain peace, protect livelihoods, and prevent unnecessary hardship for residents.
Abdullah urged authorities to learn from past experiences and prioritize preventive measures over reactive responses, noting that sustainable security depends on foresight and collaboration with local communities
