DON’T LET SUCCESS MAKE YOU FORGET YOUR CREATOR

You prayed for that admission, and Allah blessed you with it.
You worked hard for that job, and you finally got it.
Your business is growing. Your grades are improving. Your life is becoming more comfortable.
Alhamdulillah! These are beautiful blessings.
But here is an important question: **As your life improves, is your relationship with Allah improving too?**
Sometimes, when things are difficult, we remember Allah more. We make du’a, pray sincerely and ask Him for help. But when things begin to work out, we may become too busy to pray on time or remember the One who blessed us.
Allah warns us in the Qur’an:
“O you who believe! Do not let your wealth or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that, it is they who are the losers.” Qur’an 63:9 — translation of the meaning.
SUCCESS IS A BLESSING AND A TEST
Success is not a bad thing. Islam does not teach us to avoid education, wealth, business or a comfortable life. The problem begins when these blessings distract us from the One who gave them to us.
If your new job makes you neglect salah, reconsider your priorities.
If your popularity makes you look down on others, check your heart.
If your wealth makes you forget charity, remember that what you own is a trust from Allah.
The real question is not only how far you have gone in life, but whether your success is bringing you closer to Allah or further away from Him.
HOW CAN YOU KEEP ALLAH FIRST?
* Protect your five daily prayers, even when your schedule is busy.
* Thank Allah for every achievement instead of becoming arrogant.
* Earn and spend your money in halal ways.
* Remember the people who helped you along the way.
* Use your success to benefit others.
* Make du’a for Allah to keep your heart firm upon His religion.
HEART CHECK
You can be educated and still be humble.
You can be wealthy and still be generous.
You can be popular and still be modest.
You can achieve great things without forgetting your purpose.
Never become so busy building your life that you neglect your relationship with the One who gave you life.
May Allah grant us success in this world without allowing it to distract us from our akhirah. Ameen.
