Everyone makes mistakes.
Some mistakes are small. Others may leave deep regrets.
But one of the greatest gifts Allah has given us is the opportunity to repent.
Tawbah means turning back to Allah.
It means recognising your mistake, seeking His forgiveness and sincerely trying to change.
ALLAH LOVES THOSE WHO REPENT
Allah says: “Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.” — Qur’an 2:222
Think about that.
Allah does not only tell us that repentance is accepted. He tells us that He loves those who continually repent.
This means making mistakes does not mean you are beyond Allah’s mercy.
DON’T DELAY REPENTANCE
Young people sometimes say:
“I will become serious about Islam when I am older.”
“I will stop this lifestyle later.”
“I still have plenty of time.”
But none of us knows how much time we have.
Repentance should not be postponed.
If you know something is wrong, turn away from it now.
WHAT DOES SINCERE REPENTANCE INVOLVE?
Sincere tawbah includes recognising the sin, feeling genuine regret, stopping the wrongdoing and resolving not to return to it.
If another person’s rights were involved, those rights must also be addressed appropriately.
Repentance is more than simply saying “Astaghfirullah” with the tongue while planning to return to the same sin.
It is a turning of the heart and actions back toward Allah.
WHAT IF YOU FALL AGAIN?
Try again.
A person should not deliberately plan to sin because they intend to repent later. But if someone sincerely repents and later falls into the same sin, they should not conclude that repentance is useless.
Repent again.
Seek help.
Identify what triggers the sin.
Change your environment.
Ask Allah for strength.
Keep fighting.
NEVER DESPAIR OF ALLAH’S MERCY
Allah says: “Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people.”— Qur’an 12:87
Despair can make a person stop trying.
Hope makes them return.
Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not mean you cannot choose a different direction today.
YOUR NEXT CHAPTER CAN BEGIN TODAY
Maybe you have been away from Allah.
Maybe you have missed prayers.
Maybe you have fallen into sins you never thought you would commit.
Maybe you are ashamed of the person you have become.
Do not stay there.
Come back.
Allah’s mercy is greater than your mistakes.

The door of tawbah is not an invitation to keep sinning. It is a mercy for the person who sincerely wants to return.
