“I will change later.”
“I still have time.”
“I will become serious about my deen when I am older.”
Many young people think this way.
Youth can make tomorrow feel guaranteed. But life is not a promise that we control.
The reality of death is not meant to make us live in constant fear. It is meant to remind us that our time is valuable.
TOMORROW IS NOT GUARANTEED
Allah says: “Every soul will taste death.” — Qur’an 3:185
Death does not ask whether someone is young or old.
This is why a Muslim should not intentionally postpone repentance, salah or good deeds.
If you know you need to change, begin now.
DON’T WAIT FOR A PERFECT TIME
There may never be a perfect time to become better.
You may be busy with school.
Then university.
Then work.
Then marriage.
Then children.
Then responsibilities.
Life continues moving.
If you keep saying, “Later,” later can become years.
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING TO CHANGE?
Ask yourself honestly:
Is there a prayer I have been neglecting?
Is there a sin I keep returning to?
Is there someone I need to apologise to?
Is there a Qur’an sitting untouched?
Is there a good deed I keep postponing?
You do not need to change everything today.
Start with what you can change today.
REMEMBER DEATH WITHOUT LOSING HOPE
Remembering death should not make you hopeless.
Islam teaches us to balance fear and hope.
Fear can wake the heart.
Hope can keep it moving.
Allah’s mercy is vast, and sincere repentance is always encouraged while a person is alive.
So if this reminder makes you realise that you have been delaying your return to Allah, do not simply feel afraid.
Act.
Pray.
Repent.
Make peace with people where appropriate.
Do good.
DON’T WAIT FOR YOUR LAST DAY TO START LIVING FOR ALLAH
One day, each person’s opportunity to add another deed will end.
Until then, every prayer, every act of kindness, every moment of repentance and every sincere effort can matter.

You do not know how much time you have. So use the time you have been given to prepare for what comes after it.
