Imagine being young and discovering the truth, only to realise that accepting it could make your life much harder.

This was the reality faced by the early Muslims in Makkah.

They faced rejection, insults, persecution and pressure from people around them. Yet they continued to believe in Allah and follow the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Some of the early Muslims were young.

They did not say, “I’m too young to take my faith seriously.”

They understood that faith was something worth protecting.

 TODAY’S YOUTH FACE DIFFERENT PRESSURES

The challenges may look different today.

A young Muslim may be pressured to abandon modesty.

Another may feel embarrassed to pray around friends.

Someone may hide their Islam because they fear being mocked.

Others may participate in sins simply because they don’t want to feel left out.

But the lesson remains: Popularity is not a measure of truth.

 LESSONS FOR YOUTH

Stand firm when necessary.

You don’t have to participate in something simply because everyone else is doing it.

Know what you believe.

Learning your deen gives you confidence when people challenge your values.

Choose your friends carefully.

Good friends can make it easier to remain firm.

Ask Allah for strength.

Faith is not maintained by willpower alone. We need Allah’s help.

HEART CHECK

The young Muslims of Makkah remind us that being a believer sometimes means standing apart from the crowd. You don’t need everyone’s approval when you have chosen to obey Allah.
