ALI IBN ABI TALIB رضي الله عنه: THE BOY WHO ACCEPTED ISLAM
When people think about the companions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, they may imagine only older men who were already mature and experienced.
But Islam also had young believers who stood firmly for the truth.
One of them was Ali ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه.
Ali رضي الله عنه was a young boy living in the household of the Prophet ﷺ. When the Prophet ﷺ received revelation and began calling people to Islam, Ali رضي الله عنه accepted the message.
His young age did not prevent him from believing in Allah.
This is an important reminder for today’s youth:
You are never too young to have a relationship with Allah.
You may think, “I’ll become serious about Islam when I’m older.”
But why wait?
You can pray now.
You can learn Qur’an now.
You can develop good character now.
You can leave sins now.
You can become useful to your community now.
Ali رضي الله عنه grew into one of the greatest companions of the Prophet ﷺ and eventually became the fourth Caliph of Islam.
LESSONS FOR TODAY’S YOUTH
1. Never underestimate yourself because of your age.
Being young does not mean you cannot make a difference.
2. Take your faith seriously early.
The habits you develop when you are young can remain with you throughout your life.
3. Choose your role models carefully.
Ali رضي الله عنه grew up close to the Prophet ﷺ. The people you surround yourself with can influence the person you become.
4. Don’t wait for the “perfect time.”
There may never be a perfect time to start becoming closer to Allah.
HEART CHECK
Ali رضي الله عنه was young, but his faith was not small. Your age may be young, but your impact can be great.
