GRAND CHIEF IMAM OF OYO LAND REJOICES OVER THE RELEASE OF ABDUCTED ORIIRE SCHOOL CHILDREN AND TEACHERS; COMMENDS PRESIDENT TINUBU, OYO GOVERNMENT, SECURITY AGENCIES
The Grand Chief Imam of Oyo Land, Sheikh Al-Imam (Barrister) Bilal Husayn Akinola Akeugberu, has received with immense joy and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah the heartwarming news of the successful rescue of the abducted school children and their teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State after spending fifty-six (56) agonising days in captivity.
This joyful development has brought relief, hope and renewed confidence to the affected families, the people of Oyo State and indeed the entire nation.
The Grand Chief Imam gives all glory to Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala), whose infinite mercy answered the fervent prayers of millions of Nigerians.
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil-‘Alamin!
Our prayers have been answered.
Our supplications have been accepted.
Our pains have been relieved.
Our sorrows have been turned into joy.
Our children and their teachers have returned home safely.
The Grand Chief Imam expresses deep appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Kabiyesi Oba Abdul Hakeem Abimbola Owoade Elewuetu I, Alaafin of Oyo, for his fatherly concern, leadership and unwavering support throughout this difficult period.
He also sincerely commends His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his steadfast commitment and the decisive directives that culminated in the successful rescue operation. The President’s assurance that justice will be served and that adequate medical and humanitarian support will be provided to the victims is highly commendable.
Similarly, the Grand Chief Imam appreciates His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for working harmoniously with the Federal Government and the security agencies to ensure the safe return of the victims.
Special commendation goes to the gallant officers and personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force and all intelligence and security agencies whose professionalism, resilience, sacrifice and round-the-clock operations led to the successful rescue of the children and their teachers without collateral damage. Their dedication to protecting lives and preserving the peace of our nation deserves the highest praise.
The Grand Chief Imam equally thanks all Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, community leaders, civil society organisations, the media and countless Nigerians who stood in solidarity with the affected families through prayers, advocacy and moral support throughout the trying period.
While celebrating this joyful news, the Grand Chief Imam extends his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mr. Oyedokun, whose life was tragically cut short during the unfortunate incident. He prays that Almighty Allah grants his family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and that justice is fully served.
The Grand Chief Imam further urges governments at all levels to strengthen security around schools and communities to prevent a recurrence of such unfortunate incidents. The safety of our children must remain a national priority.
He concludes by praying that Almighty Allah continues to bless His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo; bless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; bless Governor Seyi Makinde; strengthen all security personnel; and continue to preserve Nigeria in peace, unity, justice and prosperity.
