The duʿā’ from Surah Al-A’raf reminds us of a powerful reality:

TRANSLATION
“Our Lord! Place us not with the wrongdoing people.”
(Qur’an 7:47)
In this beautiful supplication from Surah Al-A‘raf, the believers turn to Allah with a heartfelt request: that they are not counted among those who commit ظلم (injustice and wrongdoing).
This duʿā’ teaches us an important lesson it is not enough to avoid wrongdoing ourselves; we should also ask Allah to protect us from being associated with people, environments, and paths that lead to injustice.
During Ramadan, we strive to purify our hearts, actions, and intentions. Part of that purification is being mindful of our character, our choices, and the company we keep. The people around us can either strengthen our faith or slowly pull us away from it.
As we move deeper into Ramadan and approach the most blessed nights, let us constantly ask Allah to guide us toward righteousness and keep us far from every form of ظلم.
May Allah place us among the righteous and protect us from the company of wrongdoers.
