UMRAH HOST VISA HAS BEEN CANCELLED BY THE SAUDI MINISTRY OF HAJJ AND UMRAH

Saudi Gazette reported that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that it has canceled the Umrah host visa. The ministry said that any developments would be notified through their official channels.

The announcement of the cancellation of the Umrah host visa is a response to the question that people have raised regarding this matter.

The Absher platform explained further by saying that it is not possible to issue an Umrah host visa through the platform. Therefore, people are asked to communicate directly to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Previously, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had stated that the Umrah host visa is subject to the standards and requirements that regulate it. And emphasized that it will not be implemented, and there is no specific time for its activation.

What is Umrah Host Visa?

The Umrah host visa itself is a visa that allows citizens and residents of the Kingdom to accommodate pilgrims who come from outside Saudi Arabia with specific regulations. It enabled the Umrah host visa holders to bring and host three to five pilgrims.

The Umrah host visa was previously issued through the civil status registry for the citizens and via the residency for the residents.

The requirements needed to apply for the Umrah host visa include:

1. The host is an official government or private sector employee.

2. Citizens wishing to apply for the Umrah host visa must be 25 years old.

3. Have a commercial registry and be registered in the social insurance or wage system.

4. His income is not less than 5,000 riyals.

5. Responsible for the hosts from the moment they arrive until they leave.

Residents are entitled to bring first-degree relatives, provided they have been in Saudi Arabia for an entire year.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah had previously announced that only two categories of non-Saudis would be allowed to perform the Hajj rituals this year.

It is emphasized that those allowed to perform the Hajj rituals are only those who hold a visa designated for that or reside with regular residence inside Saudi Arabia. It means that neither a visiting nor a business visa holder cannot apply for a permit to perform Hajj this year.
