As part of the attribute of Allah (S.W.T) He is Al-Ghafur,the All Forgiving. As humans we are bound to make mistake and commit sins in which Allah has promised to forgive those that repent and seek His ultimate forgiveness.
We are not to ask for forgiveness from Allah because other people are pressuring us to do so.
Many people might guide you and tell you what’s right and what’s not, and if they know that you have committed a sin, they will suggest you ask for forgiveness.
But asking for forgiveness won’t have any effect unless you sincerely repent and seek forgiveness.
