PRACTICAL WAYS TO START YOUR WEEK WITH TAQWA

Having good intentions is important, but taqwa becomes meaningful when it is reflected in our daily actions. Every Muslim can take simple steps that transform an ordinary week into one filled with blessings and purpose.

Begin by renewing your intention. Whether you are going to work, attending school, running a business, or taking care of your family, make the intention to seek Allah’s pleasure through your efforts. Even ordinary tasks become acts of worship when they are done sincerely for His sake.

Protect your five daily prayers from the very beginning of the week. Make your prayer schedule the foundation upon which every other activity is built. When prayer comes first, everything else naturally falls into its proper place.

Set aside time to read and reflect on the Qur’an, even if it is only a few verses each day. The Qur’an is not just meant to be recited; it is meant to guide our decisions, strengthen our faith, and remind us of our ultimate destination.

Increase your remembrance of Allah throughout the day. Simple phrases such as SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and Astaghfirullah keep the heart alive and help us remain conscious of Allah in every situation.

Make it a goal to perform at least one act of kindness every day. Help a neighbour, encourage someone who is struggling, support a family member, or give charity, even if it is a small amount. These simple deeds are beloved to Allah and can become a source of immense reward.

Finally, end each day by reflecting on your actions. Ask yourself what you did well, where you fell short, and what you can improve tomorrow. A believer is always striving to become better, seeking Allah’s forgiveness for mistakes and His guidance for the days ahead.

When a week begins with sincere worship, righteous intentions, and conscious effort to obey Allah, it becomes more than just another seven days. It becomes another step toward earning His mercy, His pleasure, and ultimately, Jannah.
