START YOUR WEEK WITH TAQWA, NOT STRESS
Every new week is a gift from Allah. It is another opportunity to correct our mistakes, increase our good deeds, and draw closer to our Creator. While many people begin the week overwhelmed by deadlines, financial worries, and endless responsibilities, a Muslim is encouraged to begin with something greater than anxiety: taqwa.
Taqwa, often translated as consciousness of Allah or God-consciousness, is not merely a feeling. It is a way of living that influences every decision, every word, and every action. When a believer starts the week with taqwa, life’s challenges do not disappear, but they are approached with patience, wisdom, and trust in Allah.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out and will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him.”
(Qur’an 65:2–3)
This verse reminds us that our greatest source of security is not our salary, our business, or our plans. It is our relationship with Allah. When we prioritize obedience to Him, He opens doors that we never imagined.
Starting the week with taqwa means beginning each day with Fajr prayer, making sincere du’a, reciting the Qur’an, and asking Allah to bless our time and efforts. These acts may seem small, but they shape our mindset and strengthen our hearts before we face the demands of the day.
Many people prepare carefully for meetings, classes, and business appointments. Yet the best preparation is to prepare the heart. A heart connected to Allah remains calm during difficulties, grateful during success, and hopeful during uncertainty.
Instead of allowing Monday to become a symbol of stress, let it become a reminder that Allah has given us another chance to worship Him, serve others, and earn rewards that will benefit us in this life and the Hereafter.
