2025 HAJJ: NAHCON REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO DUE PROCESS AMID COMMISSIONER’S ARREST
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has reacted to recent media reports concerning its operations, including the arrest of its Commissioner of Policy, Personnel and Finance (PPMF), Aliu Abdulrazak, who was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged diversion of funds.
In a statement, NAHCON emphasized that as a public institution established by law, it remains committed to carrying out its mandate with integrity, responsibility, and accountability, while ensuring efficient service delivery to Nigerian pilgrims.
The Commission reiterated that it maintains a strong relationship with relevant government agencies, including anti-corruption and regulatory bodies, and would not shield any staff or process found wanting. It urged the public and the media to exercise restraint on speculations and to allow appropriate authorities to conclude their investigations in line with due process.
NAHCON further assured that it remains focused on post-Hajj evaluations, addressing operational challenges, and strengthening systems to deliver improved services in future Hajj operations.
