YOUR FUTURE IS NOT ONLY ABOUT MONEY

As a young person, you may be thinking about how to become financially successful.

You want a good job.

You want to start a business.

You want to build a comfortable home, support your family and enjoy the fruits of your hard work.

These are understandable goals. Islam does not forbid you from seeking wealth through halal means.

But have you ever stopped to ask yourself: **Am I building a life that looks successful, or am I building a life that pleases Allah?**

Allah says:

“But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And do not seek corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters.”

>Qur’an 28:77‏— translation of the meaning.

MONEY IS A TOOL, NOT YOUR PURPOSE

Money can help you pay your bills, support your family, give charity and meet your needs.

But money alone cannot guarantee peace of mind, good character or success in the Hereafter.

If the pursuit of wealth makes you neglect salah, deceive people or earn through haram means, you need to reconsider your priorities.

If you become so focused on becoming rich that you have no time for your family, your health or your deen, ask yourself whether your priorities are balanced.

The goal is not to reject worldly success. It is to pursue it without sacrificing your relationship with Allah.

BUILD A FUTURE YOU CAN BE PROUD OF

As you plan your future, remember these important things:

1. Build your relationship with Allah.

Do not postpone becoming a better Muslim until you are wealthy or comfortable.

2. Seek knowledge and useful skills.

Work hard at school, learn a trade or develop skills that can help you earn a halal living.

3. Choose honesty over shortcuts.

Do not cheat, scam or exploit others just to make money quickly.

4. Take care of your responsibilities.

Use your resources wisely and fulfil the rights of those who depend on you.

5. Remember the Hereafter.

Your achievements in this world matter, but your relationship with Allah matters even more.

WHAT WILL YOUR SUCCESS LOOK LIKE IN THE HEREAFTER?

Imagine reaching your financial goals but neglecting the prayers that Allah made obligatory upon you.

Imagine becoming famous but using your influence to spread harmful content.

Imagine accumulating wealth but refusing to help people when you are able.

Would those achievements be enough?

Work hard. Make plans. Develop your talents. Seek halal opportunities. But never forget the purpose of your life.

Build your future with your hands, keep Allah in your heart, and let your choices reflect the Hereafter you hope to attain.

May Allah grant us halal provision, beneficial knowledge, righteous character and success in this world and the Hereafter. Ameen.
