5 SIGNS THAT YOUR HEART NEEDS A SPIRITUAL RESET

Sometimes your phone slows down and needs a restart.

Your body gets tired and needs rest.

But what about your heart?

There are moments when your heart can become spiritually tired, distracted or distant from Allah. You may continue doing your normal activities while something inside you is slowly changing.

Here are five signs that your heart may need a spiritual reset.

1. YOU NO LONGER FEEL BOTHERED BY SIN

Everyone makes mistakes.

But if you can do something you know is wrong and feel absolutely no concern about it, pause and examine your heart.

A believer should not become comfortable with disobedience.

Sometimes the most dangerous thing is not falling into a sin—it is stopping yourself from caring that you have fallen.

2. SALAH FEELS LIKE AN INTERRUPTION

Salah is supposed to be one of our greatest connections with Allah.

But if you constantly see prayer as something disturbing your day, ask yourself what has changed.

Maybe your heart needs to reconnect with the One you are praying to.

 3. YOU HAVE STOPPED MAKING DUA

When life becomes difficult, do you immediately turn to people, your phone and the internet—but forget Allah?

Allah says:

“Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”
(Qur’an 40:60)

Don’t allow busyness or disappointment to make you stop talking to Allah.

4. THE QUR’AN NO LONGER INTERESTS YOU

You may still read occasionally, but your heart has become disconnected.

Instead of forcing yourself to read huge portions, start again with a small amount.

Read slowly.

Think about the meaning.

Ask yourself what Allah is teaching you.

5. YOU ARE CONSTANTLY DISTRACTED

Your heart is always looking for the next video, message, conversation or entertainment.

Silence becomes uncomfortable.

Being alone with your thoughts feels strange.

Sometimes your heart needs less noise and more remembrance of Allah.

 HOW DO YOU RESET?

Come back gradually.

Protect your salah.

Make sincere tawbah.

Read Qur’an.

Increase your dhikr.

Make dua.

Spend time with people who remind you of Allah.

You don’t need to become perfect overnight.

You simply need to turn back.

Allah says:

“Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant…”
> (Qur’an 2:222)
