WHAT WILL YOU SAY ABOUT YOUR YOUTH?

Imagine standing before Allah one day and being asked about the years you spent as a young person.

What would your answer be?

What did you do with your time? What did you chase?

What did you learn?

What did you give?

What did you do with your strength and opportunities?

The Prophet ﷺ said: “The feet of the son of Adam will not move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about his life and how he spent it, his knowledge and what he did with it, his wealth, where he earned it and how he spent it, and his body and how he used it.” Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi

Your youth is part of your life and your life is an amanah.

YOUR YOUTH WILL NOT LAST FOREVER

When you are young, it can feel like you have unlimited time.

“I’ll pray properly later.”

“I’ll learn Qur’an later.”

“I’ll stop this habit later.”

“I’ll become serious about my deen later.”

But time does not wait.

The teenager eventually becomes an adult.

The young adult eventually becomes older.

And the years that once seemed so long suddenly become memories.

WHAT ARE YOU BUILDING?

Your youth is not only for entertainment.

Use your energy to learn.

Use your mind to seek beneficial knowledge.

Use your body for good.

Use your talents to benefit others.

Use your free time wisely.

Build a relationship with Allah while you are young.

Don’t allow your entire youth to disappear into endless scrolling, unhealthy friendships, arguments, and things that bring no benefit.

YOU DON’T NEED TO BE PERFECT

This reminder is not meant to make you hopeless. If you have wasted time, start again.

If you have made mistakes, repent.

If you have neglected your deen, return to Allah.

You still have an opportunity to change how you spend the days ahead.

The question is not only:

“What have I done with my past?”

It is also: “What will I do with the time Allah has given me from today?”

HEART CHECK

Dear young Muslim, your youth is passing one day at a time.

Don’t wait until it is gone before you realize how valuable it was.

Use your youth to build something that will benefit you in this life—and, by Allah’s mercy, in the Hereafter.
