THE FINAL DAYS OF RAMADAN: ARE WE FINISHING STRONG OR FADING AWAY?

As the blessed month of Ramadan moves toward its final days, many believers begin to feel a mixture of emotions. There is gratitude for having witnessed this sacred month, hope that our deeds have been accepted, and also concern that time is running out. Ramadan is not just about how we started the journey, but how we finish it.

Day 24 reminds us that the end of Ramadan is very close. For some people, the early days of fasting were full of enthusiasm. The masjids were full, Qur’an recitation increased, and hearts felt soft and connected to Allah. But as the days pass, fatigue can set in. Some may begin to slow down in worship, thinking that they have already done enough.

However, the final days of Ramadan are among the most valuable days of the entire month.

Allah, in His mercy, placed the last ten nights in Ramadan as the most spiritually powerful period. Within these nights lies Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree, which the Qur’an describes as better than a thousand months. This means that one sincere night of worship can carry rewards greater than more than eighty years of devotion.

The Prophet ﷺ understood the importance of these final nights very well. According to authentic narrations, when the last ten nights of Ramadan began, he would increase his acts of worship, spend more time in prayer, and awaken his family so that they too could take part in the blessings of these nights.

This teaches us a powerful lesson: Ramadan is not a race that ends in the middle; it is a journey that must be completed with strength and determination.

Finishing Ramadan strong means increasing our focus on acts of worship. Even small actions can have a great impact during these days. Reading the Qur’an, making sincere du’a, giving charity, performing night prayers, and seeking forgiveness from Allah are all deeds that carry immense rewards.

It is also a time for reflection. Ask yourself honestly: Has Ramadan changed me? Has it brought me closer to Allah? Have my prayers become more sincere? These questions help us evaluate our journey and motivate us to make the most of the remaining days.

One of the greatest opportunities in these final days is sincere repentance. Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness. No matter what mistakes we have made in the past, the doors of Allah’s mercy remain open. A heart that turns back to Allah sincerely will always find Him forgiving and compassionate.

As Day 24 arrives, the message is simple: do not let your energy fade now. The greatest rewards may still lie ahead in the nights that remain. Push yourself a little more in prayer, in remembrance, and in good deeds. These final days are precious moments that will not return until the next Ramadan, if Allah grants us life.

May Allah allow us to finish this Ramadan with strong faith, accepted deeds, and hearts filled with gratitude. May He grant us the blessing of witnessing Laylatul Qadr and accept all our prayers and sacrifices during this sacred month
