UNDERSTANDING THE SIX ARTICLES OF FAITH IN ISLAM

Islam establishes a profound connection between individuals and Allah by outlining core beliefs known as the Six Articles of Faith. These foundational tenets shape a Muslim’s worldview and guide their actions. They are:
1.Belief in the Oneness of Allah (Tawhid):
Muslims affirm that Allah is singular, unparalleled, and the sole deity worthy of worship. The term “Allah” is unique, denoting the One True God without associates or equals.
2.Belief in Angels:
Angels are created by Allah to execute His commands and maintain the order of the universe. They are beings of pure spirit, devoid of physical desires, and serve as intermediaries between Allah and humanity.
3.Belief in Divine Books:
Muslims acknowledge that Allah has revealed scriptures to various prophets to guide humanity. These include the Torah given to Moses, the Psalms to David, and the Gospel to Jesus. However, Muslims believe that these earlier scriptures were specific to their time and people and have undergone alterations. The Quran is regarded as the final, unaltered revelation, encompassing and perfecting previous messages.
4.Belief in Prophets:
Prophets are human beings chosen by Allah to convey His guidance. They exemplify moral and spiritual excellence. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is considered the last prophet, bringing comprehensive guidance for all of humanity.
5.Belief in the Day of Judgment:
Islam teaches that life continues after death, culminating in a Day of Judgment when all individuals will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. Those who have led righteous lives will be rewarded with Paradise, while those who have committed wrongdoing will face punishment in Hell.
6.Belief in Divine Decree (Qadar):
This tenet holds that Allah, in His infinite wisdom, has preordained all events in the universe. While humans possess free will to make choices, ultimately, everything unfolds according to Allah’s master plan.
These Six Articles of Faith form the bedrock of a Muslim’s belief system, guiding their understanding of existence and their relationship with the Creator.
