SPIRITUAL DIGEST: RAMADAN DAY 27 (A DU’A FROM SURAH AL-A’RAF)

The spiritual digest for Ramadan day 27 is a supplication from Surah Al-A’raf (7:89).

This dua was made by Prophet Shu‘ayb (AS) when he was rejected by his people after calling them to the truth. They mocked his message, threatened him, and tried to force him and his followers back into disbelief. Instead of responding with anger, Shu‘ayb (AS) turned to Allah, seeking divine judgment and justice.

رَبَّنَا ٱفْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ ٱلْفَٰتِحِينَ

Rabbanaa iftaḥ baynanaa wa bayna qawminaa bil-ḥaqqi wa anta khayrul-fātiḥīn

“O our Lord! Decide between us and our people with truth, and You are the Best to decide.” (Surah Al-A’raf 7:89)

By saying “iftah bainanaa” (decide between us), he asked Allah to make the truth clear and establish justice between him and his disbelieving people. He concluded by acknowledging that Allah is the Best of Judges.

Lessons from the Verse

  1. Turning to Allah in Disputes – When faced with opposition, injustice, or false accusations, the best response is to seek Allah’s judgment rather than resorting to anger or revenge.

  2. Trust in Divine Justice – Allah is Al-Fattaah (The Supreme Judge and Opener), and He will always establish justice at the right time.

  3. Patience in the Face of Rejection – Like Prophet Shu‘ayb (AS), we should remain patient when people reject us or the truth we stand for.

  4. Faith in Allah’s Wisdom – Even when we don’t see immediate justice, we must trust that Allah’s decision is always the best.

When to Recite This Dua

  • When facing conflicts, oppression, or false accusations.

  • When seeking justice in personal or legal matters.

  • When feeling wronged or misunderstood.

  • In situations where truth needs to prevail.

This is a powerful supplication for those struggling with injustice or seeking divine intervention.
