HAIDH: THINGS MENSTRUATING WOMAN CAN DO DURING LAYLATUL-QADR
In Islam, the concept of a woman’s menstrual period (known as “haidh”) is an important topic, both in terms of health and religious practice.
Haidh refers to the menstrual bleeding that occurs in women as part of their natural biological cycle. It is a time when a woman’s body is undergoing certain physical and hormonal changes.
Islam recognizes menstruation as a natural process, but there are specific guidelines regarding religious observances during this time.
Below are some of the things a menstruating woman can do during Laylat al-Qadr:
- Recite the Quran: Menstruating women are not allowed to touch the Quran directly. However, they may recite or listen to it.
- Make Dhikr
- Make Istighfar
- Make Du’a.
What Dhikr to do when on your period in Ramadan?
A menstruating woman can make any du’as she likes (including Qur’anic duas according to scholars).
She can also do the various dhikr like tasbeeh (saying subhanAllah), tamheed (saying alhamdulillah), tahleel (saying la ilaha ilallah) or any others she likes.
How to make tahajjud while on your period?
You can’t pray tahajjud in the last third of the night, but you can still wake up and sit in your place of prayer and make earnest duʿā’ and istighfār.
For the first few days, you might be unable to worship as much due to being in pain.
What to do on Laylatul Qadr when menstruating?
- Maximizing Laylatul Qadr During Menses.
- Know that you are worshiping by not worshiping.
- You are rewarded for your intentions.
- Listen to the Quran.
- Make a lot of dhikr (remembrance) of Allah.
- Send blessings upon the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
- Give generously in charity.
- Make lots of dua.
Which dua can be recited during periods?
It is permissible for a menstruating woman to remember Allah by reciting whatever du`a’s and dhikrs she wants; there is no reason why she should not do that.
And it is permissible for her to recite Qur’aan, as is the view of Abu Haneefah and the view favoured by Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on them both).
