TAWBAH: THE ACT OF REPENTANCE
BY OYEWUNMI.O.KAFAYAT
Human beings have the tendency to forget things and commit sins over and over again. Allah has given us the power to repent by going to Him and praying for forgiveness. Our mountains of evil deeds pale in comparison to Allah’s enormous ocean of mercy.
Allah has promised to forgive our faults if we repent of them. You may feel sad, dejected, and severely dissatisfied with ourself after committing sins. However, if you return to Allah with a few tears in your eyes and beg Him for forgiveness, He will undoubtedly pardon you.
Hadith also explain how Allah (S.W.T) Values those who are repenters The Prophet (S.A.W) said: “Every son of Adam sins, the best of the sinners are those who repent.” Sunnan al Tirmidhi 2499
There are no other avenues through which we can resolve our problems. Only Him is capable of pardoning sins. He invites us to the abode of peace (Paradise); He is the Almighty who conceals our flaws, and He alone has the power to transform our evil deeds into good deeds. Allahu Akbar
And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards God, that ye may attain Bliss. Quran, Sura 24 (Al-Noor)
The Quran also mentions how Allah (SWT) values people who are repenters.
Until a person dies, the door of repentance remains open to him. Allah supplies abundantly when anything is a necessity, such as air and water.
Because we are continually sinful and disobedient to Allah, and Satan is constantly encouraging us to do wrong, Tau’bah is abundantly available so that we can return to Allah.
Oh Allah, have your mercy on us and continue to forgive us all our sins.
