RAMADAN: PETER OBI FEEDS FASTING MUSLIMS DURING NASARAWA VISIT
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, demonstrated solidarity and unity during the Ramadan season by feeding and breaking the fast with approximately 1000 individuals at the Maraba-Nyanya International Market Central Mosque.
He stated that the purpose of this kind deed was to promote peace and collaboration between the many communities in during this special period.
In a post on social media, Obi disclosed that he also traveled to Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, on Monday. During his tour, he had meetings with retired Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, who serves as the Emir of Lafia, and he also paid Governor Abdullahi Sule a visit.
He said, “This visit was more than a mere formality, it was a genuine expression of my deep respect and unwavering solidarity with the community.
“The primary purpose of my visit was twofold: to immerse myself in learning about the experiences of our people, particularly during this special time of Ramadan, and to provide support to those facing hardships during these challenging times.
“As part of my nationwide initiative to assist those in need, my visit to Lafia allowed me to offer aid to approximately 100 individuals and address a critical societal need by installing a borehole.
“Leadership in our new nation must meet the people in their places of real need and experiences.”
