Aggrieved youths in their numbers stormed the Kano Hisbah Office on Wednesday to protest the alleged blasphemous song for the portrayal of the Prophet in a bad light.
The protesters accused government and security agents in the state of reluctance to handle the case, which they claimed, informed the protest.
Idris Ibrahim ,also known as Baba Idris, who convened the protest affirmed that they came to notify the government to do the needful otherwise they will take the laws into their hands.
He also disclosed that similar incidents have happened in the state, but the issues died down without action on the part of the government. This, he said, will not go unpunished.
Yahya Sharif-Aminu composed a song containing derogatory verses about the Holy Prophet which prompted violence against members of the musician who has already fled the area.
The family house of the singer located in Sharafai Quarters in Kano Municipal Local Government Area has however been set ablaze by an irate mob.
Findings indicated that the singer is a member of the Tijaniyya sect and Faidha group who are known to prefer the popular Senegalese Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass to the Holy Prophet.
The Commander of Kano Hisbah Office, Harun ibn-Sina, while speaking with the protesters assured them that the government is on top of the situation and that the parents of the singer have been arrested.
