VIDEO: NO BOMBING ATTEMPT AT MAKKAH’S GRAND MOSQUE, SAUDI AUTHORITIES CLARIFY
Saudi authorities have denied viral reports claiming that a suicide bombing attempt took place at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
The reports circulated on social media after videos showed security personnel detaining an individual near the holy site, with some posts falsely claiming that the person was carrying an explosive vest and had attempted to approach the Kaaba.
Saudi Public Security clarified that the individual was arrested for harassing passersby and causing panic and fear among them, not for attempting a bombing.
Authorities said the individual was dealt with immediately, while the necessary legal procedures were taken and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution.
Saudi authorities have therefore confirmed that the claims of a bombing attempt at the Grand Mosque are false.
Pilgrims and the public are advised to rely on official sources and avoid sharing unverified reports or videos that could cause unnecessary panic.
