THE MARRIAGE OF MUHAMMAD ﷺ AND KHADIJAH رضي الله عنها: LESSONS FOR YOUTH

Before Prophet Muhammad ﷺ received revelation, he was already known in Makkah for his honesty, trustworthiness and excellent character.

Khadijah رضي الله عنها was a respected and successful businesswoman who came to know him through his work managing her business affairs. She saw his honesty, character and trustworthiness.

Their marriage was built on qualities that young Muslims can easily overlook today: **character, trust and mutual respect.**

In a world where relationships are often judged by appearance, money, popularity and social media status, the story of Muhammad ﷺ and Khadijah رضي الله عنها reminds us that character matters.

When the Prophet ﷺ later received revelation and returned home frightened and overwhelmed, Khadijah رضي الله عنها supported and comforted him. She believed in him and stood beside him during one of the most difficult moments of his life.

LESSONS FOR YOUTH

1. Build your character before looking for a spouse.

Who you are matters more than what you have.

2. Don’t allow social media to define your idea of love.

A healthy marriage is not built on perfect pictures and romantic words alone. It requires patience, trust, sacrifice and support.

3. Choose character over appearance.

Beauty may attract people, but good character helps relationships survive difficult times.

4. Become the kind of person you hope to marry.

Instead of asking only, “What kind of spouse do I want?”* ask yourself, *”What kind of spouse am I becoming?”

HEART CHECK

The marriage of the Prophet ﷺ and Khadijah رضي الله عنها teaches us that a strong relationship needs more than attraction.

It needs faith, character, trust, respect and genuine support. Before you start searching for “the one,” start working on becoming the right person yourself.
