A touching story of forgiveness from Saudi Arabia’s Asir region has drawn widespread admiration after Sheikh Yahya bin Qans al-Bashri al-Qahtani reportedly pardoned the man accused of killing his son, Bandar, without seeking any form of compensation.

According to reports, Sheikh Yahya made the decision after learning that the accused was the only son and sole caregiver of his elderly and sick mother.

In a remarkable display of mercy, the Sheikh is said to have personally visited the man’s home and announced the pardon in front of his mother, who reportedly burst into tears upon hearing the news.

Rejecting blood money and any financial settlement, Sheikh Yahya declared: “My reward is with Allah.”

The act has been widely praised as a powerful example of forgiveness, compassion, and faith, reflecting the Islamic virtue of showing mercy even in the midst of immense personal grief.
