DON’T SLOW DOWN NOW: WHY THE LAST DAYS OF RAMADAN MATTER MOST
As Ramadan approaches its final days, many believers begin to feel the weight of the long fasts, late nights, and busy schedules. Energy may drop, routines may change, and some people gradually reduce their acts of worship. But this is exactly the moment when believers are encouraged not to slow down.
The last days of Ramadan are not the time to relax spiritually. In fact, they are the most important days of the entire month.
Throughout Ramadan, Muslims strive to increase their connection with Allah through fasting, prayer, charity, and recitation of the Qur’an. The purpose of this month is to purify the heart, strengthen faith, and renew one’s relationship with the Creator. But the true test of devotion often appears near the end of the journey.
Many people begin Ramadan with strong motivation. The first days are filled with excitement and determination. Mosques are full, Qur’an recitation increases, and people are eager to perform good deeds. However, as the days pass, some believers begin to slow down without realizing it.
Islam teaches us that what matters most is how we finish our actions.
The Prophet ﷺ placed great importance on the final ten nights of Ramadan. During this time, he would increase his acts of worship, spend longer hours in prayer, and dedicate himself fully to seeking Allah’s mercy. He understood that within these nights lies Laylatul Qadr, a night that is better than a thousand months.
Imagine being given the opportunity to gain rewards equal to more than eighty years of worship in a single night. This is the incredible blessing hidden within the last part of Ramadan.
For this reason, believers are encouraged to renew their efforts during these final days. Even if someone feels they did not do enough earlier in the month, it is never too late. Allah’s mercy remains open until the very last moment.
Simple actions can carry immense rewards during this time. Performing the night prayer, making sincere du’a, seeking forgiveness, giving charity, and increasing the remembrance of Allah are all powerful acts of worship. Even helping others, showing kindness, and maintaining good character are deeds that Allah greatly rewards.
These final days are also a moment for deep reflection. Ramadan teaches patience, discipline, and gratitude. As the month comes to an end, it is important to ask ourselves whether we will carry these lessons beyond Ramadan.
Will we continue praying regularly?
Will we keep reading the Qur’an?
Will we maintain the good habits we built during this sacred month?
Ramadan is not meant to change us temporarily. It is meant to transform our lives permanently.
As we reach Day 24 and move closer to the end of this blessed month, the message is clear: do not slow down now. The greatest rewards may still be waiting in the nights ahead. Increase your worship, strengthen your intentions, and continue seeking Allah’s mercy with sincerity.
May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and allow us to witness the blessings of Laylatul Qadr. May He grant us the strength to finish Ramadan with faith, dedication, and hearts full of gratitude.
