SEEKING FORGIVENESS DAILY IS A SIGN OF FAITH
Every human being sins. Every soul makes mistakes. But what separates a true believer from others is not perfection it is the constant act of returning to Allah through Istighfar (seeking forgiveness). In Islam, seeking forgiveness is not just for those who have committed major sins; it is a daily act of purification, a shield for the heart, and a sign of sincere faith.
SIN DOES NOT MAKE YOU A FAILURE GIVING UP DOES
Islam teaches us that sin is part of the human experience. The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who sin are those who repent.”
Tirmidhi
This hadith beautifully teaches us that the best Muslims are not the ones who never sin, but those who never stop returning to Allah. Your sins do not define you your repentance does.
EVEN THE PROPHET ﷺ MADE ISTIGHFAR DAILY
Despite being free from sin, the Prophet ﷺ would seek forgiveness from Allah more than 70 to 100 times a day. He said:
“By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and repent to Him more than seventy times each day.”
Bukhari
If the best of creation felt the need to make Istighfar so often, what about us who fall into sins daily?
ISTIGHFAR IS HOPE FOR THE BROKEN
Shaytan wants you to believe that your sins are too many, that your past is too dirty, that you don’t deserve Allah’s mercy. But Allah says:
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.”
Qur’an 39:53
It doesn’t matter how dark your past is Allah is ready to forgive as long as you turn back to Him with sincerity. The door of Tawbah (repentance) is always open until your final breath or until the sun rises from the west.
BENEFITS OF SEEKING FORGIVENESS

“O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant… I admit Your blessings upon me and I admit my sins. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.”
Whoever says this sincerely in the morning and dies before evening will enter Jannah. And whoever says it in the evening and dies before morning will enter Jannah.
Bukhari
