GRAND MUFTI OF SAUDI ARABIA, SHAYKH ’ABDUL-’AZIZ IBN ’ABDULLĀH ĀL AL-SHAYKH, HAS PASSED AWAY
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.
With hearts full of grief yet submission to the will of Allah, we announce the passing of our venerable Shaykh and father, His Eminence Shaykh ’Abdul-’Aziz ibn ’Abdullāh Āl al-Shaykh, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a man of immense virtue and service to the people.
O Allah, forgive Shaykh ’Abdul-’Aziz, raise his rank among the rightly guided, grant good succession among his descendants, forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds, expand his grave for him and fill it with light.
The funeral prayer will be held today at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh after the ’Asr (afternoon) prayer.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques may Allah preserve him has also directed that the absentee funeral prayer (salāt al-ghā’ib) be performed today after ’Asr in the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, and in all mosques across the Kingdom.
