2023 HAJJ REFUND: OYO PILGRIMS BOARD ANNOUNCES DISBURSEMENT GUIDELINES

The Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) has announced the commencement of registration for refund to all the state’s pilgrims who performed the 2023 Hajj with the Board.

This follows the disbursement of N5.3bn refund by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria to State Pilgrims Welfare Boards and tour operators for poorly rendered services during the 2023 Hajj.

In a statement on Thursday, signed by Sheikh Wahab Atere Hashim Olamide, Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), the board announced that Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the disbursement.

The board while stating that the refund is meant for the services paid for by the pilgrims but not rendered while they were in Saudi Arabia during the pilgrimage, however, stated that pilgrims who were sponsored by State Government are not entitled for the refund.

“The self-sponsored individuals are, therefore, requested to submit their account details with proof of identification which include payment receipts, copy of International Passport Data Page, copy of 2023 Hajj Visa etc.”

According to the Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Wahab Atere, the submission of the details is to be made to the Office of the Board at Hajj Camp, Olodo, Ibadan from Monday, December 2, 2024, between 9am and 4pm every working day of the Week.

The Board also enjoined all Individuals interested in 2025 Hajj to hasten up with their registration.
