You open social media and see someone travelling.
Someone just got married.
Someone bought a new car.
Someone has beautiful clothes.
Someone is showing their business success.
Someone looks happy every single day.
Then you look at your own life and think:
“Why isn’t my life like this?”
Social media can make comparison feel normal.
But Allah says:
«“Do not let your eyes long for the worldly pleasures We have granted some of them, the luxuries of this worldly life, through which We test them. And your Lord’s provision is far better and more lasting.” Qur’an 20:131»
YOU ARE SEEING A HIGHLIGHT, NOT THE WHOLE STORY
People usually post what they want others to see.
You see the wedding picture.
You don’t see the arguments.
You see the new car.
You don’t see the financial pressure.
You see the beautiful outfit.
You don’t see the insecurity.
You see the successful business.
You don’t see the years of struggle.
So don’t compare your entire life to someone’s carefully selected moments.
GRATITUDE PROTECTS YOUR HEART
There is nothing wrong with wanting a better life.
Islam encourages us to work, grow and pursue halal success.
But don’t become so focused on what you don’t have that you forget what Allah has already given you.
Your health.
Your family.
Your faith.
Your abilities.
Your opportunities.
Your life itself.
These are blessings.
DON’T LET ENVY STEAL YOUR PEACE
Someone else’s blessing does not mean Allah has forgotten you.
Their success does not reduce your provision.
Their beauty does not make you less valuable.
Their marriage does not mean you are behind.
Their career does not determine your worth.
HEART CHECK
Allah knows exactly what you need and when you need it. You don’t need to live someone else’s life to have a beautiful life. Be grateful for what you have. Work for what you want and trust Allah with what you cannot control.
