DON’T FORGET ALLAH WHEN LIFE GETS BUSY
School. Work. Business. Friends. Family. Social media. Assignments. Responsibilities.
As a young Muslim, life can become very busy.
You wake up thinking about everything you need to accomplish. Before you know it, the day is over.
And sometimes, the first thing we sacrifice when life gets busy is our relationship with Allah.
We tell ourselves:
“I’ll pray when I’m less busy.”
“I’ll read Qur’an later.”
“I’ll make du’a before I sleep.”
But “later” can easily become tomorrow, and tomorrow can become another day.
Allah warns us: “O believers! Do not let your wealth and your children distract you from the remembrance of Allah. And whoever does so, it is they who are the losers.”Qur’an 63:9
BEING BUSY IS NOT THE PROBLEM
Islam does not tell you to abandon your studies, career, family or responsibilities.
You can work hard.
You can build a career.
You can study.
You can enjoy halal activities.
You can pursue your dreams.
But none of these should make you forget the One who gave you the ability to do them.
DON’T GIVE ALL YOUR TIME TO THE WORLD
Think about how much time you spend scrolling through your phone.
How much time do you spend chatting?
Watching videos?
Playing games?
Studying?
Working?
Now ask yourself:
How much time do I intentionally spend remembering Allah?
The issue is not always that we have no time.
Sometimes we simply give our time to everything else first.
KEEP ALLAH IN YOUR DAY
You don’t need to wait for a special moment.
Remember Allah when you wake up.
Pray your salah on time.
Read a few verses of Qur’an.
Make dhikr while travelling.
Say Alhamdulillah when something good happens.
Make du’a when something worries you.
End your day by remembering Allah.
Small acts can keep your heart connected to Him.
DON’T LET SUCCESS DISTRACT YOU
Sometimes people remember Allah when life is difficult but forget Him when things become easy.
Don’t wait until you need something before turning to Allah.
Build a relationship with Him in good times too.
Your studies need you.
Your work needs you.
Your family needs you.
But most importantly, your heart needs Allah.
HEART CHECK
Don’t become so busy building your life that you forget the One who gave you life. Make room for Allah in every season of your life.
