The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“A person follows the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he takes as a close friend.”
(Sunan Abu Dawud and Jami’ at-Tirmidhi)

Choose Friends Who Remind You of Allah

These are the relationships that continue to benefit both people in this life and, by Allah’s permission, in the Hereafter.

Ask yourself:
- Do they encourage me to obey Allah?
- Do they inspire me to improve?
- Do I become a better person after spending time with them?
- Am I having a positive influence on them as well?
If the answer is yes, value those relationships and thank Allah for them.
If not, consider making changes that will protect your faith and help you grow.
