LET EVERY NEW WEEK BRING YOU CLOSER TO JANNAH

Every Monday marks the beginning of another week, but it also marks another step in our journey towards the Hereafter. The days ahead are not guaranteed, and none of us knows whether we will live to see another week. That is why every believer should treat each new week as an opportunity to increase in faith and righteous deeds.

Many people begin the week with a list of worldly goals. They plan their meetings, business transactions, studies, and financial targets. While there is nothing wrong with planning for this life, a Muslim should also have goals that bring them closer to Allah.

Ask yourself at the beginning of the week: Which good deeds will I increase? Will I complete all my prayers on time? Will I recite more of the Qur’an? Will I give charity, even if it is a small amount? Will I forgive someone who wronged me? Will I visit my parents or strengthen family ties? Will I help someone who is struggling?

These are the goals that continue to benefit us long after this world has passed away.

It is important to remember that Jannah is not attained through wishful thinking alone. It is attained by Allah’s mercy, accompanied by sincere faith and righteous actions. Every act of worship, every moment of patience, every sincere repentance, and every good deed is another step towards that eternal reward.

Do not be discouraged if your progress seems slow. Allah loves consistency more than occasional bursts of worship followed by long periods of neglect. Even if you improve by only one good habit each week, those small improvements will, by the permission of Allah, grow into a lifetime of righteousness.

As this week unfolds, live with the awareness that every hour is an opportunity to earn Allah’s pleasure. Speak words that benefit others, fulfil your responsibilities with honesty, remember Allah often, and never miss an opportunity to do good.

May this week not only be productive in your worldly affairs but also rich in deeds that will illuminate your grave, increase your scale of good deeds, and bring you closer to the everlasting gardens of Jannah. Ameen.
