MAKE THIS WEEK A WEEK OF BENEFITING OTHERS

A believer does not measure success only by personal achievements. True success in Islam also includes the positive impact we have on the lives of others. Every new week presents countless opportunities to become a source of goodness for family members, neighbours, colleagues, friends, and even strangers.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) taught that the best people are those who are most beneficial to others. This means that every act of kindness, no matter how small, carries value in the sight of Allah.

Benefiting others is not limited to giving money. It can be as simple as offering sincere advice, helping someone complete a task, visiting the sick, teaching beneficial knowledge, comforting a person in distress, or making du’a for someone in their absence. Even greeting people with a smile and speaking kind words are forms of charity.

Many people spend their weeks asking, “What can I gain?” A Muslim should also ask, “Whose burden can I lighten? Whom can I help for the sake of Allah?”

If Allah has blessed you with knowledge, share it. If He has blessed you with wealth, spend from it wisely. If He has blessed you with influence, use it to promote justice and goodness. Every blessing is a trust, and one day we will be asked how we used it.

Helping others also strengthens the bonds within the Muslim community. Communities become stronger when people care for one another, support those in hardship, and celebrate one another’s successes without envy or selfishness.

As this week unfolds, make it your intention to leave every person you meet better than you found them. Speak words that inspire, lend a helping hand when you can, forgive those who wrong you, and be known for honesty and compassion.

When you dedicate part of your week to serving others for the sake of Allah, you are not only improving their lives—you are investing in your own Hereafter. The good you do today may become the very deed that weighs heavily on your scale of good deeds on the Day of Judgment.
