SPIRITUAL DIGEST: RAMADAN DAY 26, SEEKING ALLAH’S FORGIVENESS AND MERCY
As the blessed month gradually draws to a close, the heart of a believer becomes softer and more reflective. These last nights of Ramadan are a precious opportunity to turn sincerely to Allah, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and acceptance of our deeds. No matter how imperfect our journey has been, Allah’s mercy remains greater than our shortcomings.
Allah reminds us through the powerful supplication made by Prophet Adam (AS) and Hawwa after their mistake a reminder that repentance is always the path back to Allah.
Arabic:
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Transliteration:
Rabbanaa zolamnaa anfusanaa wa in lam taghfir lanaa wa tarhamnaa lanakoonanna minal khaasireen.
Meaning:
“Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls. If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will certainly be among the losers.”
(Qur’an 7:23)
Reflection:
This du’a teaches humility and accountability. It reminds us that acknowledging our mistakes is the first step toward Allah’s mercy. In these final days of Ramadan, increase in repentance, sincere du’a, and good deeds. Allah loves those who return to Him.
May Allah forgive our shortcomings, shower us with His mercy, and allow us to witness Laylatul Qadr with hearts full of sincerity. Ameen
