DON’T SLOW DOWN NOW: WHY THE LAST 10 DAYS OF RAMADAN ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT

As Ramadan progresses, many people begin to feel the effects of fasting, late-night prayers, and long days. Energy levels may drop, routines may become lighter, and some may feel tempted to slow down in their acts of worship.

But the last ten days of Ramadan are not the time to slow down. In fact, they are the most important and spiritually rewarding days of the entire month.

These final days carry opportunities that may not come again for another year. Within them lies Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Decree, a night that Allah describes in the Qur’an as better than a thousand months. This means that a single night of sincere worship could carry the reward of more than eighty years of devotion.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) clearly showed the importance of these days through his actions. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that when the last ten nights of Ramadan began, the Prophet would increase his worship more than at any other time. He would dedicate himself to prayer, remembrance, and seeking Allah’s mercy.

This powerful example teaches us an important lesson: the end of Ramadan should be stronger than the beginning.

Think of Ramadan as a spiritual journey. The early days prepare the heart, build discipline, and establish routines of worship. But the last ten days are the moment when believers push themselves to gain the greatest rewards.

Unfortunately, some people experience the opposite. They begin Ramadan with excitement and energy, but by the final days they become tired and reduce their efforts. This is exactly when the greatest rewards are available.

A believer who understands the value of these days does the opposite. They increase their prayers, spend more time with the Qur’an, and make sincere dua during the quiet hours of the night.

Even small acts of worship during these days can carry enormous rewards. Reciting Qur’an, remembering Allah, giving charity, helping others, and seeking forgiveness are all acts that can multiply beyond imagination.

Another beautiful aspect of the last ten days is the opportunity for sincere repentance. Ramadan reminds us that Allah’s mercy is always open to those who return to Him. No matter what mistakes a person has made in the past, these final days offer a chance to start fresh.

This is why believers should not allow fatigue to stop them from striving during this period. Instead, they should remind themselves that Ramadan is quickly coming to an end.

Once it passes, we cannot bring it back.

The prayers we did not perform, the Qur’an we did not read, and the duas we did not make will be opportunities lost.

But the good news is that the door is still open.

The last ten days of Ramadan are here. The greatest night of the year may be among them. Allah’s mercy continues to pour upon those who seek Him sincerely.

So do not slow down now.

Increase your worship. Strengthen your connection with Allah. Fill these final days with prayer, remembrance, and gratitude.

Because finishing Ramadan strong may be the difference that changes everything.
