SPIRITUAL DIGEST:RAMADAN DAY 17, SEEKING FORGIVENESS AND STEADFASTNESS

As we reach the seventeenth day of Ramadan, we are reminded of a powerful supplication mentioned in the Qur’an:

“Rabbanaa ighfir lanaa dhunuubanaa waisraafanaa fii amrinaa wathabbit aqdaamanaa wansurnaa ‘alal qawmil kaafiriin.”

(Qur’an 3:147)

Meaning:

“Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our excesses in our affairs, keep us firm-footed and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

This beautiful du’a teaches us three important lessons. First, we must always seek Allah’s forgiveness for our sins and shortcomings. No matter how careful we try to be, we all make mistakes, and Ramadan is the perfect time to turn back to Allah sincerely.

Secondly, the supplication asks Allah to make us firm and steadfast. Faith is not only about believing but also about remaining strong upon the truth even during trials and challenges. In today’s world, holding firmly to our values and faith requires constant reliance on Allah.

Finally, the du’a asks Allah for victory. This victory is not just physical but also spiritual victory over our desires, our weaknesses, and anything that distances us from Allah.

As the blessed days of Ramadan continue, let us increase our supplications, ask Allah for forgiveness, and pray for strength to remain steadfast in our faith.

May Allah forgive our sins, accept our acts of worship, and grant us steadfast hearts. Ameen.
