SPIRITUAL DIGEST: DAY 11 OF RAMADAN A BEAUTIFUL DU’A FOR BOTH WORLDS
As Ramadan continues, Allah teaches us one of the most complete and powerful du’as in the Qur’an a du’a that asks for success in this life and eternal success in the Hereafter.
“Rabbanaa aatinaa fid-dunyaa hasanah, wa fil-aakhirati hasanah, wa qinaa ‘adhaaban-naar.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:201)
Meaning:
“Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”
This du’a reminds us that Islam encourages balance. We are not asked to abandon this world, nor are we told to focus only on worldly gains. Instead, we ask Allah for goodness in both beneficial sustenance, peace, guidance, and ultimately, Jannah.
Ramadan is the perfect time to repeat this du’a often after prayers, before breaking your fast, and in the quiet moments of the night.
Ask with sincerity. Ask with hope. Allah loves to give.
