NAHCON REDUCES 2026 HAJJ FARES, SETS DECEMBER 5 PAYMENT DEADLINE FOR INTENDING PILGRIMS

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a significant reduction in the 2026 Hajj fares, offering much-needed relief to intending pilgrims across the country. The commission also fixed December 5, 2025, as the final deadline for all payments.
According to NAHCON, the decision to review and reduce the fares followed successful negotiations with service providers in Saudi Arabia and a directive from the Federal Government of Nigeria aimed at making the sacred pilgrimage more affordable and accessible to all Muslims.
Under the new structure, pilgrims departing from southern states will now pay ₦7,991,141.76, down from the previous ₦8,784,085.59.
For northern states (excluding the Maiduguri-Yola zone), the fare has been reduced to ₦7,696,769.76, from ₦8,457,685.59.
Meanwhile, pilgrims from the Maiduguri-Yola zone, covering Borno, Adamawa, and surrounding areas, will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, representing a reduction of ₦748,104.63 from the earlier rate.
NAHCON emphasized that all payments must be completed on or before December 5, 2025, noting that timely payment is crucial for seat allocation, visa processing, and overall coordination of the 2026 Hajj operations. Intending pilgrims are therefore advised to make early arrangements through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards to avoid losing their slots.
The commission assured that the fare adjustment would ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims and their families, while also fostering greater compliance with Hajj registration and payment timelines.
Reaffirming its dedication, NAHCON stated that it remains committed to ensuring affordable, safe, and well-organized Hajj services for all Nigerian pilgrims. The commission expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, relevant agencies, and Saudi authorities for their support in achieving this downward review.
With this new development, the 2026 Hajj is expected to witness increased participation and smoother operations, reflecting NAHCON’s vision to make the sacred journey a spiritually fulfilling and financially accessible experience for every Nigerian Muslim.
