We are solicitor to Sheikh Habeebullah Adam Al-Ilory ‘our client’ and it is on his instruction we write in respect to the above caption subject.
Our client who is a revered Islamic scholar briefed us that his attention has been drawn to posts on Facebook and Instagram with your account name “@Instablog9ja” where one of his lectures video clips was doctored and posted by you.
In the said video clip, our client was portrayed by you with negative posture of extremism of ideological conviction. You made a caption: “TOUNGES WAG AS POPULAR ISLAM CLERIC, SHEIKH HABEEBULLAH ADAM AL-ILORY REVEALS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THOSE THAT USE SATELITTE DISH”.
You agree with us that this caption of your posts is adopted by you with your cohorts, sponsors and agent of darkness with the sole aim of inciting public rage against our client. Whereas, our client never said what you imputed to him in that manner. A full video clip of the lecture will reveal that what you quoted and posted is just part of the analysis of our clients about the position of some jurists which does not align with our client’s religious philosophy.
Our client has been inundated with a lot of probing and insults from the netizens and other members of the public as a result of your posts and the damage to his name could only be imagined.
Our client has also instructed us to demand from you as follows:
1. Publish unreserved apologies on all your social media platforms.
- Taking down all posts related to the subject matter from all your platforms.
- Reposting the full video of our client for better context of the said lectures.
- Liaising with other platforms who have reposted, shared or tweeted your posts to equally delete same immediately and also repost the full and correct version.
In the event of your failure to heed our client’s demand within seven (7) days, we shall be compelled to file legal actions against you and your media platforms seeking damages as well as other ancillary reliefs that would deter your likes from using social media to bring people of integrity into disrepute.
