TREAT ALL NIGERIANS AS INDIGENES, SULTAN CHARGES GOVERNORS
The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has called on governors to extend equal treatment to all Nigerians residing in their states, regardless of their origin.
Speaking during his Sallah homage to Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Lodges, Sokoto, the Sultan emphasized the importance of inclusivity.
He noted that in Sokoto, all Nigerians are regarded as indigenes, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among residents.
The Sultan urged other states to adopt this approach to promote lasting peace, harmony, and strong brotherhood among all Nigerians.
Emphasizing the crucial role of security, he called on state governors to prioritize the protection of lives and property, noting that security is the foundation upon which every society thrives and progresses.
